Area musicians set to take Clinton by storm
By Dominic Serrao

As Danny is weakening into a tropical depression, area musicians are getting set to take Clinton’s Main Street by storm. Two bands and four solo artists will take part in the Come Together grand finale scheduled for Sunday August 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is a culmination of the summer-long weekly series, which features talented local musicians in a casual environment at three open-air sidewalk venues.

Singer/songwriter Brian Colburn loves the family-friendly Clinton Main Street venue. In an interview with the Examiner, he said, “Clinton is a great area to perform. The people genuinely enjoy the music, as is evident by the growing number of people that stop to watch each and every performance.”

Colburn said the crowds were extremely receptive. He added, “This year, I've noticed more and more children and their families stopping to take in some music.”

Bloomsbury-resident Rick Koval agrees and said the crowds had been very supportive this year just as they were last year. At the finale, Koval will be performing with The Trainwrecks featuring The Pat Mormino Band.

Kenny Cunningham, a full-time musician originally from Liverpool, England, said the ‘Come Together’ concept is a joy for an artist to participate. During the grand finale, Cunningham intends to do a Beatles tribute along with some ‘60s and ‘70s favorites such as James Taylor and Paul Simon.

Colburn said, “I am looking forward to a great turnout on Sunday – hopefully mother nature feels the same and gives us a bright and sunny day for the event!”

Cunningham said, “Come see it and celebrate life in beautiful Clinton.”
